Scentwork Classes and Workshops
Scentwork is great for dogs because it taps into their natural instincts, burns deep mental energy, and calms their nervous systems.

Sniffing and problem-solving require high concentration, tiring a dog out faster than a standard physical walk, ticking all the mental stimulation boxes! Research shows that active sniffing regulates a dog’s nervous system, reducing stress, anxiety, and over-excitement making it a superb activity to help calm and relax your dog. Scentwork alos helps your dog build confidence as searching and finding hidden targets helps shy, nervous, or reactive dogs feel more secure and optimistic.

Scentwork is suitable for all dogs: puppies, senior dogs, and dogs recovering from injuries or on crate rest can safely participate with very low physical impact.
​
Finally, scentwork also strengthens the Bond: Working together as a team improves communication and trust between you and your dog.
Scent Club
My Scent Club meet a couple of times a month for scent sessions in a variety of places; outside when the weather is fine and inside when the weather is not so fine!
​
In order to join us, your dog needs to have completed basic scentwork training and be imprinted on a specific scent, such as clove, Kong or gun oil.

Level 2 Improver Scent 4 week Course

Location Search - Ferne Animal Sanctuary
For dogs who have some experience in scent work, I am delighted to be returning to Ferne again this year to challenge our dogs on some interesting and varies outdoor searches.

We will be moving around the sanctuary from search area to search area as a group of handlers and dogs, so this may not be suitable for dogs who struggle in the presence of strange dogs and new people.

Woodland Search - Merriott, Somerset
For dogs who have some experience in scent work, my woodland search challenges dogs to work in an area with highly distracting environmental distractions, including water searches, high and low searches and burried finds.

Scent walks
When the weather is fine, I often run scent walks for groups of dogs who are experiences in scentwork.
